Assessment & Therapy Services

  • Your child may be experiencing speech difficulties if they:

    • Are hard to understand

    • Use incorrect sounds in words

    • Have trouble saying certain sounds

  • A child may require support to develop their language skills if they:

    • Have difficulty following instructions

    • Are a late talker (e.g., first words emerging after 18 months)

    • Have difficulty forming sentences

    • Demonstrate limited vocabulary or difficulty naming objects

    • Have difficulty asking or answering questions

  • The way we use social skills to interact. This can include:

    • Engaging in play

    • Taking turns in conversation and in play

    • Using and maintaining eye contact

    • Understanding social cues

  • Stuttering relates to the flow and smoothness of speech. It involves disruptions to the natural rhythm of speaking. Stuttering behaviours may include:

    • Repetition of sounds, syllables or words

    • Prolongations or stretching of a sound

    • Blocks or silent pauses in speech
